CareVets Wainuiomata is looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a 10-month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a busy, well-supported clinic where your skills will be valued and utilised across a wide range of nursing duties.

About the Role
As a Veterinary Nurse at CareVets Wainuiomata, you will play a key role in supporting our veterinary team and delivering high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality nursing care, ensuring patient comfort and wellbeing
  • Assisting veterinarians with consultations, diagnostics, and surgery
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and patient recovery
  • Performing laboratory tasks including sample collection and in-house testing
  • Preparing and maintaining surgical and treatment areas
  • Communicating with clients and providing education and support
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and clinic protocols
  • Conducting nurse consultations

This is a full-time, fixed-term role (10 months) with a roster that includes 1 in 3 Saturdays.

About You
You will bring:

  • A veterinary qualification registrable in New Zealand
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a companion animal clinic
  • Strong clinical nursing skills, including anaesthesia and patient care
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to high standards of care
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development
