About the Role
Are you an experienced Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a busy clinical environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care?

We are seeking a highly capable Veterinary Nurse to join our Taumarunui team. This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a supportive, close-knit clinic where your experience, initiative, and nursing expertise will be genuinely valued.

We are looking for a nurse who can confidently take ownership of anaesthetic monitoring, patient care, and clinical nursing duties while working alongside a passionate team committed to providing outstanding veterinary care.

For the right candidate, we will cover relocation expenses to help make the move to the beautiful Central North Island as seamless as possible.

What You'll Be Doing
No two days are the same, but your role will include:

  • Surgical nursing, including patient preparation, anaesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery
  • Accurate medication calculations and drug administration
  • Inpatient and critical care nursing
  • IV catheter placement, blood collection and diagnostics
  • Laboratory sample processing and patient monitoring
  • Nurse consultations and client education
  • Supporting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
  • Maintaining high clinical standards and contributing to a positive team culture

What We're Looking For
This role is suited to a qualified Veterinary Nurse with solid clinical experience who can confidently work in a fast-paced environment.

You will have:

  • A recognised Veterinary Nursing qualification
  • Proven experience monitoring anaesthesia independently
  • Excellent medication calculation and dispensing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and patient advocacy
  • Exceptional communication and client care skills
  • The ability to remain calm, organised and professional under pressure
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support your teammates

Most importantly, you'll be someone who genuinely cares about delivering the highest standard of care to every patient that comes through our doors. Strong anaesthetic and medication calculation skills are essential for this role.
