Zoetis are hosting a special live webinar featuring Dr. John Innes that is going to be transmitted to 11 different locations across New Zealand.
Professor John Innes graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1991. He moved to Bristol Vet School working there for 10 years. Whilst there, he completed his postgraduate surgery training and achieved a PhD from the Rheumatology Unit of the Bristol Medical School before becoming a lecturer in small animal orthopaedics. He became a RCVS-recognised Specialist in 2001 having passed his RCVS diploma in 2000. In 2001, he was appointed Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the University of Liverpool.
His research has focussed on osteoarthritis and comparative musculoskeletal sciences. In 2010, John was visiting professor at University of Sydney, working with Professor Chris Little at the Kolling Research Institute at Royal North Shore Hospital.
John has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, chaired the BSAVA Scientific Committee, and has acted on behalf of RCVS in a number of capacities, including veterinary school accreditation. In 2016, John was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for ‘meritorious contributions to knowledge’ and, in 2023, he was awarded the BSAVA ‘Blaine Award’ for contributions to veterinary science. John was Chair of the RCVS Fellowship Board 2019-2022.
In 2022, John co-founded “Movement Referrals: Independent Veterinary Specialists”, a specialist referral practice in the NW of England.
