The Annual General Meeting of the New Zealand Veterinary Nursing Association (Inc) will be held during the NZVA & NZVNA 2025 Conference (Tākina Convention Centre, Wellington) on Thursday 5th June 2025, at 11.30am.

The NZVNA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held during the NZVA & NZVNA 2025 Conference at Tākina Convention Centre, Wellington, on Thursday 5th June 2025 at 11:30am.

With one nomination received per Officer role, the following appointments will be ratified at the AGM (pending objections):

  • President: Laura Harvey
  • Vice President: Yani Riley
  • Treasurer: Lisa Hamilton

Several current Executive Committee members will continue their service, while Lauren Gliddon and Amy Ross will be stepping down. This creates two open positions for new Executive Committee members in 2025.

An online election for these two positions will take place prior to the AGM. All full NZVNA members will be able to vote via the email associated with their membership. Election results will be formally announced and ratified at the AGM.

We are now inviting nominations for two new Executive Committee members. If you're passionate about advancing the veterinary nursing profession in Aotearoa, this is a great opportunity to contribute.

Serving on the NZVNA Executive Committee gives you a voice in shaping the future of Allied Veterinary Professionals (AVPs) in New Zealand. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team of veterinary nurses, technologists, and rural animal technicians from a variety of backgrounds.

What’s involved?

  • Four in-person meetings per year (full day)
  • Monthly one-hour online meetings
  • Attendance at the annual conference
  • Participation in working groups and timely email engagement

While these are voluntary roles, all reasonable expenses are covered.

Skills we’re especially looking for:

  • IT or systems management
  • Equine or referral/specialist practice
  • HR
  • Fundraising or sponsorship
  • Marketing and social media

Who can apply?

Any full and financial NZVNA member is eligible. New members receive support through an orientation manual and mentoring from experienced committee members. We’re a flexible team that understands life and work commitments.
