- Personalising anaesthesia plans, including for co-morbidities, high-risk and emergency patients
- Blood pressure management and interpreting anaesthetic trends
- Mechanical ventilation and advanced monitoring (capnography, invasive BP)
- Balanced anaesthesia: CRIs, local blocks, and multimodal analgesia
- Intraoperative troubleshooting (dysrhythmias, depth, ventilation-perfusion mismatch)
- Pain scoring, analgesic selection, and escalation protocols
Presented by Shannen Green, a Registered Veterinary Nurse originally from Ireland, now working as the Anaesthesia Team Leader at VSA Sylvia Park. She has always been drawn to the rhythm and challenge of anaesthesia and has completed a NCert in Anaesthesia, with an Advanced Certificate in Anaesthesia currently underway.
Day to day, Shannen works alongside a brilliant team to provide anaesthesia for a wide variety of cases. She is especially passionate about supporting others to grow in this space, and loves teaching, mentoring, and helping people feel more confident when things get complex.
Whether she’s hosting CPD, running in-house training, or having informal chats on the floor, Shannen believes in building each other up and making learning approachable. She is looking forward to this session and hopes it sparks useful ideas for all who attend.
